On Tuesday’s episode of The View, Joy Behar took aim at Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith, even going so far as to call him “mentally ill” for talking to God. However, just one day later, Pence made Behar regret her disgusting move — BIG TIME.
On Tuesday, The View‘s cackling co-hosts discussed former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman, who left her position in the Trump administration and re-appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother.
In an apparent attempt to keep her name in the spotlight for as long as possible, Omarosa has been trashing Trump and his administration on television ever since leaving the White House.
“As bad as you think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence — everyone that is wishing for impeachment might want to reconsider their life,” Omarosa said in a clip from Celebrity Big Brother which was shared on The View. “I am Christian. I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things,” she said to the other contestants.
According to Behar, this is proof positive that Pence is mentally ill.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus,” she said, according to Raw Story. “It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices.”
Behar went on to mock Pence’s policy of never being alone with a woman besides his wife, saying, “My question is, can he talk to Mary Magdalene when his wife isn’t in the room?” This comment was so offensive that not even the liberals in the audience gave it laugh, as they all appeared to be in disbelief that Behar would go so far.
A devout Christian, this is not the first time Mike Pence has been attacked by elitist liberals in the entertainment industry for his beliefs. Typically, the vice president lets such insults roll off his back. Indeed, he is a great example of turning the other cheek.
However, this time, Pence couldn’t help but speak out in defense of his faith and in defense of other Christians who also have a deeply personal relationship with God.
“To have ABC maintain a broadcast forum that compared Christianity to mental illness is just wrong,” Pence said Wednesday on C-SPAN. “It is simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance,” added the vice president.
My faith sustains me in all that I do,” said Pence, adding that The View hosts insulted the “vast majority of the American people who cherish faith.”
“It demonstrates how out of touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people that you could have a major network like ABC permit a forum for invective against religion like that,” he added, according to BizPac Review.
One day after Joy Behar made the incendiary claim that Vice President Mike Pence is “mentally ill,” the nation was blindsided by a mass shooting in Florida. The shooter, who took at least seventeen lives when he opened fire at a school, was mentally ill in the true sense of the word.
