Petition drive launched to draft James Woods for governor of California

From Ronald Reagan to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Californian voters actually seem to enjoy casting ballots for Republican actors.

And with likely Democratic Party nominee Gavin Newsom not appearing to give a damn about anything beyond naked political ambition, why not draft someone far more intelligent than any predecessor in that office?

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? That James Woods would blow Pretty Boy Floyd, aka Gavin Newsom, right out of the gubernatorial waters?

That a debate between Newsom, Antonio Villaraigosa, Tom Steyer or any of the other left-wing Democrat wannabes ends very badly for anyone other than Woods?

We are launching a campaign to convince Woods to run for Governor this year and won’t take no for an answer!

Californians deserve a choice in this year’s crucial election and it’s a mistake to allow Gavin Newsom to cakewalk right into the governorship without a fight,” said Melanie Morgan, a Marin County resident spearheading the “Draft James Woods” effort on behalf of the Media Equality Project.

Writing at Media Equalizer, Brian Maloney said the effort is entirely independent of the actor, who has yet to express an interest in a possible run for the job.

Maloney further said:

In recent years, Woods has become a conservative firebrand, eviscerating far-left social media users on Twitter. There, he has 1.1 million followers and his tweets immediately attract widespread attention.

We think he could out-debate Newsom and any other candidate hands-down”, Morgan added.

Maloney, a co-founder of Media Equalizer who describes himself as a native Californian now living on the east coast, said this may be the state’s last hope for saving itself from permanent far-left extremism.

There isn’t a minute to spare when it comes to the Golden State’s fate. Only Woods has the firepower to take on the Democratic Party’s machine and his candidacy would instantly become high-profile nationally. Unlike other potential GOP candidates, Woods has a fighting chance of winning,” he added.

The Times said Woods — a staunch supporter of President Trump — “might prove a formidable foe,” observing that “his opinions are well-calibrated, timely, frequent and provocative.”
